The role of the Special Operations Deputy Chief is to develop and manage a Special Operations team strategic plan that incorporates budget, training, equipment and special operations procedures on both a local and regional level, and to assist in the development, management and maintenance of a 40 acre joint Police/Fire training facility.  This position also represents Mesa Fire Department Special Operations by participating in groups responsible for training with surrounding communities, state and federal agencies as well as private industry.
